Ayer llegamos al base en medio de una tormenta. Nos recibió muy calidamente el equipo de “Caudwell Everest x-treme”, con quien compartiremos estas dos semanas, ya que el documental también recogerá sus investigaciones. Que pequeño es el mundo, entre los médicos del grupo se encontraba un viejo amigo que hacia 17 años que no veía, Nigel, a quien conocí en un YMCA en Irlanda cuando un verano fui a dar clases de escalada y aprender inglés.Desde hace días corría el rumor que los ordenadores y los Ipod dejaban de funcionar en el base………….a mi me sonaba raro, hace tiempo que llevo ordenador y nunca había oído nada del tema.
Pero efectivamente, los Ipod que van con disco duro y los ordenadores Apple y algún que otro ordenador han petado, el mío ha pasado la prueba de fuego. La causa por lo visto es la manera en la que los discos duros están sellados y como la falta de presión de aquí les afecta, presionándolos e impidiendo que funcionen.
We finally reach base camp yesterday in a snow storm, but we hade a worm reception by the “Caudwell Everest x-treme”, we are going to shear base camp with then these two weeks, as they are part of the documentary too. I didn’t know what to think because I have been caring computers on expeditions for many years, and nothing happen before. But the roomers where right: the Ipod that work with hard disc, Apple and some other computer just stopped working up here. Supposedly because the way they are sealed and how the different of pressure up here affect them. I’m save, my computer work well.
